Under v\u00e5ren kommer Nordic Labour History Network att arrangera en rad webbinarier om arbetarhistoria. Klas R\u00f6nnb\u00e4ck inleder serien med en presentation av ett p\u00e5g\u00e5ende akademiskt arbete om l\u00f6nearbete i subsahariska Afrika 1600-1900<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Missa inte Nordic Labour History Networks f\u00f6rsta webbinarium! Tisdagen den 9 februari presenterar professor Klas R\u00f6nnb\u00e4ck<\/a>, ekonomihistoriker vid G\u00f6teborgs universitet, ett f\u00f6rsta utkast av artikeln \u201dWage labour in Sub-Saharan Africa, 1600-1900\u201d.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Jag ser fram emot ett sp\u00e4nnande samtal med kollegor och andra. F\u00f6rhoppningsvis kan jag f\u00e5 synpunkter p\u00e5 vad som \u00e4r bra, vad som saknas samt vad som g\u00e5r att utveckla, s\u00e4ger Klas R\u00f6nnb\u00e4ck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hans arbete kommer att ing\u00e5 som ett kapitel i andra volymen av The General Labour History of Africa, som publiceras av ILO och James Currey. Den f\u00f6rsta volymen publicerades 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detta \u00e4r det f\u00f6rsta webbinariet som Nordic Labour History Network (NLHN) anordnar. Efter den snabba digitaliseringen av det akademiska samtalet i sp\u00e5ren av coronaviruset beslutade NLHN att anv\u00e4nda f\u00f6rdelarna med den utvecklingen f\u00f6r att skapa en ny virtuellt arena f\u00f6r diskussioner mellan aktivister och forskare i de nordiska l\u00e4nderna. Under v\u00e5ren 2021 planerar NLHN en serie online-evenemang. Det kommer att bli s\u00e5v\u00e4l workshops d\u00e4r man diskuterar arbetsdokument med inbjudna kommentatorer (work-Lab) som paneldebatter och f\u00f6rel\u00e4sningar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seminarieprogram<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I mitten av februari kommer NLHN presentera sitt digitala seminarieprogram f\u00f6r v\u00e5ren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Det \u00e4r verkligen roligt att Nordic Labour History Network har tagit initiativ till online-m\u00f6ten. Jag tror att vi kan anv\u00e4nda detta f\u00f6r att f\u00e5 till ett samtal i Norden om hur vi kan utveckla arbetarhistoria tillsammans, s\u00e4ger Silke Neunsinger, forskningsledare p\u00e5 Arbetarr\u00f6relsens arkiv och bibliotek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samarbetet mellan nordiska arbetarhistoriker och andra som \u00e4r intresserade av \u00e4mnet har p\u00e5g\u00e5tt sedan b\u00f6rjan av 1970-talet. N\u00e4r Nordic Labour History Network (NLHN) grundades i mars 2017 var det f\u00f6r att formalisera detta samarbete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This spring NLHN will arrange a serie of webinars on labour history. The premiere is on 9 February when Klas R\u00f6nnb\u00e4ck presents his ongoing academic work on<\/strong> wage labour in Sub-Saharan Africa 1600-1900. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t miss out Nordic Labour History Network\u2019s first webinar! On Tuesday 9 February professor Klas R\u00f6nnb\u00e4ck<\/a>, economic historian at Gothenburg University, presents a first draft on his paper \u201dWage labour in Sub-Saharan Africa, 1600-1900\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comments will be made by professor Andreas Eckert<\/a>, Re-Work, Humboldt University Berlin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– I look forward to a interesting conversation with fellow researchers and others. Hopefully I can get views on what is good, what might be missing and which parts can be developed, Klas R\u00f6nnb\u00e4ck says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His paper will become a chapter in the second volume of The General Labour History, co-published by ILO and James Currey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the first webinar arranged by the Nordic Labour History Network (NLHN). After the instant digitalization of academic outreach during the spring of 2020, NLHN decided to use the advantages of this digitization to create a new virtual space for discussions between activists and academic researchers in the Nordic countries. During the spring of 2021 the NLHN plans to arrange a series of online events. These range from workshops discussing working papers with invited commentators (work-Lab) to panels and lectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Webinar program<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The spring webinar program will be presented in mid February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-It\u2019s satisfying that NLHN will arrange online events. I think we can use this to start a discussion within the Nordic region on how to develop labour history together, says Silke Neunsinger, head of research, The Swedish Labour Movement\u2019s Archives and Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collaboration between Nordic labour historians and those interested in Nordic labour history has been ongoing since the early 1970s. The foundation of the Nordic Labour History Network in March 2017 aims at formalizing this collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The webinar is open and free of charge but registration is required. Please register before 4 February. You will receive a zoom-link and login to a draft of the paper before the webinar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
