Copyright

The collections at the Swedish labour movement’s archive and library include a vast number of photographs, films, and audio recordings. When using this material, it is essential to consider copyright regulations.

You can access our audiovisual material on-site with us, either through our catalogues or by manual search. Please note that we do not lend out materials; instead, we provide copies for a fee.

When publishing any material, you must always include the following information:

  • Name of the creator.
  • Archive institution: Arbetarrörelsens arkiv och bibliotek / Swedish Labour’ movement’s archive and library
  • Archive: [for example, Alva och Gunnar Myrdals arkiv].

We have a copyright agreement that covers copies of audio files and moving images from the Labour Movement Archive and Library. This agreement applies to all forms of public, official, or commercial use, including platforms such as YouTube.

For more details, please refer to the “Swedish labour movement’s archive and library – Agreement for Audio and Moving Images” (pdf).

Creator

The name of the creator is crucial for copyright purposes. If we have information about the author, we will provide it. However, it is your responsibility as the client to identify the copyright holder.

If you cannot determine the copyright holder after making a reasonable effort, you may include the following statement with your publication:

The author has attempted to contact the copyright holder. If anyone claims copyright in this work, please contact the editorial office or the author.
